How we are responding to Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our residents and staff continues to be our most important priority. Elderly residents in care homes are amongst the most vulnerable transmission groups of the COVID-19 virus. Below you’ll find the steps we are taking to protect residents in our care and staff in our employment.
Ongoing situation
We are following Government advice and guidance provided by Public Health England during the Coronavirus outbreak and as the situation changes, we will constantly review and adapt our approach. Please see the most up to date Government guidance here.
Visiting our care home
For more information regarding the safe procedures for visiting care homes please visit the Department of Health and Social Care website here. Visiting policies are subject to change based on most up to date government guidance and risk assessments. For more information about our current visiting policy, please contact us.
Am I feeling well?
If you are feeling unwell and or showing symptoms of COVID-19, notably; a cough, a fever, or high-temperature, or are experiencing a shortness of breath, please do not visit a care home, and follow government protocol here. If you have no access to the internet dial 111 for medical advice.
Extra steps
Care staff and management have implemented a variety of extra steps to help protect our residents and employees. These include;
Routine deep or extra cleaning.
Encouraging 20-seconds hand washing for residents and staff.
Enforcing hand sanitisation stations at the front door, for use upon entry and exit.
Hand sanitisation stations are position around our care homes for regular use. We have good stocks, as do our suppliers, of soap and hand sanitisers.
Ensuring our care staff are aware of the key symptoms of COVID-19 and how to monitor them in residents and team members.
Displaying pictorial information at the entrance to each care home to advise visitors on safeguarding of residents and staff.
Use of PPE equipment.
An on-going situation
We continue to follow the advice and guidelines provided by Public Health England. As the situation changes we will constantly review and adapt our approach. We will update this page inline with the most current Government information and advice.
